Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES) is an autonomous body, under the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India. The Governing Council (GC) of AEES which is constituted by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) comprising Senior Administrative Officers, Scientists &Engineers of DAE and Educationists governs the Education Society. Currently, AEES runs 31 Schools and Junior Colleges (AECS/JC) that are located at Mumbai and Tarapur in Maharashtra, Narora in Uttar Pradesh, Kakrapar in Gujarat, Hyderabad and Manuguru in Telangana, OSCOM in Orissa, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Rawatbhata in Rajasthan, Anupuram, Kalpakkam, Kudankulam and Pazhayakayal in Tamil Nadu, Kaiga and Mysore in Karnataka, and Jaduguda, Narwapahar and Turamdih in Jharkhand.

The AEES Schools and Junior Colleges aim at providing an all-round education to all students. AEC Schools run classes from I to Class X and up to Std. XII in selected schools to prepare the students for the All-India Secondary/Sr. Secondary School Examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi; In Mumbai (AECS-4) and Tarapur (AECS-3) classes XI and XII are affiliated to CBSE and AEJC, Mumbai and AECS -1, Tarapur are affiliated to Maharashtra State Board. In Kalpakkam (AECS-2) Classes XI and XII are affiliated to Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Education Board. In other Centres these classes are affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. The academic year begins on 1st April and ends on 31st March. Some centres run Junior colleges/ Sr. Secondary schools affiliated to State Boards/CBSE.

संस्था के प्रशासनिक तंत्र में अध्यक्ष, सचिव, कोषाध्यक्ष तथा 12 अन्य सदस्य के साथ एक शासी परिषद् है जो प.ऊ.शि.सं. के कार्यों का संचालन करती है। अध्यक्ष, प.ऊ.शि.सं. शासी परिषद् के अध्यक्ष भी हैं। शासी परिषद् संस्था की नीतियों तथा विभिन्न योजनाओं के सूत्रीकरण में अध्यक्ष महोदय को सहायता प्रदान करती है।

प्रशासनिक स्तर पर प.ऊ.शि.सं. में प्रधानाचार्य, उप-प्रधानाचार्य एवं मुख्याध्यापक/ मुख्याध्यापिकाओं का एक बेजोड़ तंत्र है जो प.ऊ.कें.विद्यालयों के सुचारू संचलान के लिए उत्तयरदायी है। इस तंत्र की गतिविधियों को समन्वित करने, विचारों व योजनाओं को एकीकृत करने के उद्देश्य के साथ प्रतिवर्ष प्रधानाचार्यों का एक सम्मलेन आयोजित किया जाता है।

परमाणु ऊर्जा शिक्षण संस्था अपने प्रत्येक कर्मचारी के सराहनीय कौशल और प्रत्येक विद्यार्थी की बहुमुखी प्रतिभा के साथ उत्कृष्टता की महत्वकांक्षाओं को हासिल करने की ओर अग्रसर है। जैसा कि कहावत है- उत्कृष्टता एक गतिमान लक्ष्य है; परमाणु ऊर्जा शिक्षण संस्था निरंतर गुणवत्ता के मानकों को ऊंचा उठा रही है। साथ ही परमाणु ऊर्जा शिक्षण संस्था उच्च नैतिक मूल्यों पर आधारित प्रगतिपथ पर बने रहने के लिए बचनबद्ध है।
